kosmunity update – 11/10/2021

🌭 Aaaaand we’re back! I’m very pleased to be writing this kosmunity update from our new News (nunus?) page. The updates that were previously sent via email to Twitch subscribers will now appear here. At some point, I’ll extract all the haikus from the old updates and post them in the Writing area of the site.

🌭 First, thanks to each of you for helping to support the channel. Whether we’re throwing impotent ninja stones or just receiving involuntary electroshock therapy from dreadful babies, it’s always a pleasure.

🌭 We’ve had some wild adventures since our last update! Most recently, we successfully completed Clovis’s Trial (first hard-mode mash-up temple) in Curse of the Dead Gods without taking any damage from enemies or traps! (https://youtu.be/N4afXd7kSRU) That leaves just two missions in the game left to knock out without taking damage, and our no-hit journey will have come to an end. It’s been a blast.

🌭 Yesterday we fired up a fresh save in Nioh, and it’s been awesome so far! Back when the game first released (2017), I started a file, made it to the second boss or so, then got distracted by other games. That was well before I started streaming. Coming back to that game world now after all the experiences I’ve had as kosmender really helps me appreciate the depth and creativity of the combat system. And we’re just getting started! I look forward to diving all the way into this one.

🌭 Darkest Dungeon 2 is out! So far, I’ve got a very high opinion of it. The drastic reworks to the combat system and run structure had me skeptical, but I think after having spent 20-30 hours with it, I trust where Red Hook is aiming. The current early-access build is a bit light on content and needs some balancing, but that’s to be expected. What we have now is a gorgeous appetizer that indicates to me we’re in for a hell of a meal. And teeth. The meal will have lots of teeth.

🌭 In the coming week, we’ll be serving up heaping helpings of Nioh, peppering in some no-hit Curse of the Dead Gods, looping back to Dead Cells just to stay frosty, and potentially hopping into something very calming like Satisfactory.
