First, thanks to each of you for helping to support the channel. Whether we're belly-flopping on a pants-less foot soldier from three stories up or just casually interrogating the Men in Black, it's always a pleasure.

Ooooweee. We began our long-anticipated Nioh 2 playthrough this past week, and it's great so far! We've taken out our first two main mission bosses, and I really enjoyed both of those fights. We've chosen the Fists and Hatchets as our primary weapons, but I've been maining Fists. Oh, and Nioh Fartavius has some truly spectacular hair game going on.

The evolution of the combat system from Nioh 1โ€”especially coming off a relatively recent Elden Ring playthroughโ€”has been really impressive to experience so far. It's super cool to feel my poor little brain gears try to switch from one universe to another. I'd heard they really nailed the fighting in the sequel, and I think I will end up totally agreeing with that statement by the end of our journey. I won't attempt to articulate it all right here, but the short version is that they've added some excellent countering and super-move mechanics that round out the fights in a way that feels very organic, fair, and intensely engaging. Also, hard.

We finished out our Moonscars playthrough, and I give the whole thing high marks. Brilliant, beautiful game. Our playthrough will be cracked into four pieces for YouTube, and part 1 is already available here!

I wonder what La Bamba from the Max Weinberg 7 is doing right now.

And now, a public pool haiku:

Is that a diaper?

Splashin' watermelons 'round

Summertime. Love it.

This time, I'll leave you with one of my favorite zone-out/chill/study/creative project albums of all time: Music for Nine Postcards by Hiroshi Yoshimura. This was one that hit me hard the first time and just kept growing.

Rock on and happy hunting. Love y'all.
