kosmunity update – 9/14/2022

First, thanks to each of you for helping to support the channel. Whether we're desperation-dodging Chevalier buried blasts or just hoping Dr. Dogturd can bark enough times to stop a zombie in his tracks, it's always a pleasure.
We've had some awesome developments since our last update. Most notably, we've broken the seal on The X-COM Files, which is a modded version of Microprose's 1994 X-COM: UFO Defense (aka UFO: Enemy Unknown in non-US markets) with an X-Files theme. The mods add a ton of quality-of-life updates like searchable menus, and a ton of asset and content additions to go with the X-Files theme. But fear not—the retro graphics, punishing RNG, and overall delight of the original remain intact.
We've had eight X-COM streams so far, and I'm really enjoying my time with it. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes one of our main games for the rest of the calendar year.
Oh, dearest Darkest Dungeon. We've taken the dive back into the world of that asshole Ancestor of ours, and things are going quite well. Our bloodmoon Spooty Protuberance Estate is in week 48, we've got no crimson curse in the roster, and we've only got three fallen heroes. I never like to see party members die, but so far all our deaths have been well within normal DD spillage bounds. We're about 40% of the way through the Viscount map, and that's where we'll be returning today.
You may have noticed that the Twitch, YouTube, and Twitter kosmender pages have gotten a new coat of paint recently. That's because it's GrowthTember, which is just a silly name for the fact that I'm ready to launch into the next stage of expansion for the kosmunity. This past year held a ton of IRL challenges, surprises, and scheduling conflicts, and that contributed to what George Costanza might rightfully call [stream] shrinkage. I don't want that. I want to grow. I'm doubling down on kosmender and am excited to see what the future holds.
